Are you ready to face your fears and challenge yourself at a location that is known for some massive experiences? Join us at Mid Orange Correctional Facility in Warwick, New York!
GET HAUNTED invites you, regardless of your level of experience, to join us and investigate a location that started as an addiction “clinic” then became a reform school and ultimately, a correctional facility. Imagine the tales to be told at … the MID-ORANGE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY.
Brief History – The facility opened in 1914 and served the community as a rehabilitation center for men with drug and alcohol addictions. In 1933, it was transformed into the State Training School for Boys, focusing on the rehabilitation of young men. This lasted until 1977, when it became the Mid-Orange Correctional Facility for men. It remained a medium-security prison until 2011 when its doors were closed. It now serves as the Hudson Valley Sports Complex.
NOTE: The actual cell blocks no longer exist. We have access to the cottages, admin building, mess hall, and the infamous tunnels!
Paranormal Activity – Considering a past of addicts, troubled young men, and prisoners, is it any wonder staff and guests have had experiences here. Shadow figures, doors slamming on their own, unexplained noises, phantom perfume and disembodied voices are but a few of the reports.
EVENT DETAILS
• Check in begins approximately 20 minutes prior to the event start time
• Welcome and introductions
• Historical talk or tour, if available
• Break into smaller groups where we investigate WITH you, discussing and utilizing various investigative techniques, equipment, and methodologies
• Between sessions, we will regroup and recap what was experienced
• Once group sessions and recaps are complete, you are free to borrow our equipment and explore on your own
• Various experiments and challenges will be offered during free time
• Breaks, as needed, between sessions
• Snack and refreshments will be available all night
What to Expect -
• A clean and legitimate investigation - nothing is faked or staged, and we will try to debunk everything as much as we can.
• A balanced approach to investigating from all angles – scientifically, spiritually, psychologically.
• A respectful investigation … we respect the spirits, the location, and each other. We will not tolerate provocation, drunken or rowdy behavior, or damaging or defacing anything onsite.
• While we cannot guarantee a paranormal experience, we can guarantee you an experience in the paranormal!
What You Should Bring -
• A flashlight (red would be best)
• A camera
• An open mind
• A sense of humor
• Any of your own equipment (and we have plenty to borrow)
• And… a bit of courage!
